An angler has netted out two dead piranhas from a pond in Manchester.

According to a report from thisisbolton.co.uk, an angler fishing at Rhodes Pond in Middleton, Manchester, removed the two dead fish from the water while fishing at the spot.

Environment Agency told thisisbolton.co.uk that they believed the piranhas were being used as live bait to catch other fish.

Bernie Chappel of the EA told them: "Putting tropical fish in lakes and ponds is not only illegal but extremely cruel."
