Stranded goldfish becomes club mascot

One of the two goldfish which became stranded on Carlise United Football Club's pitch has been adopted as its new club mascot.

According to the BBC, the fish belonged to four-year old Ashleigh Turk, and was washed from its home on her sideboard when flood waters swept through her home.

The fish, which was originally named Billy, has since been renamed Judy, after someone pointed out that it was actually a female.

Ashleigh has donated the fish to the club. It will live in the foyer along with the other fish found swimming on the flooded pitch.
