A 12lb cod was discovered on the green at a seaside golf course in South Wales.

The fish, measuring around 90cm/3' in length, was found lying near the third hole at the Royal Porthcawl Golf Club by a member of staff who was clearing up the debris left by the recent storms.

The course borders the Bristol Channel and it's thought the fish was washed up onto the green by giant waves.

In October 2012 PFK covered the story of a young Leopard shark found, still alive, near the 12th hole on a California golf course — four miles from the sea! The shark had two puncture wounds, so it's possible that the culprit here was a large bird, which had carried it over the golf course before dropping it.
