It is with deepest regret that we have to announce the passing of Joe Nethersell on Tuesday, 31st August.

Known throughout the aquatic hobby as the leader of the Federation of British Aquatic Societies, Joe contributed so much to the continuing popularity of the hobby over at least five decades.

He was probably regarded, rightly so, of the being the driving force behind the long list of successful 'Festivals of Fishkeeping' that the FBAS held in recent years, bolstered by Joe's excellent contacts with our friends in the aquatic trade.

Everyone will have their own story to tell about Joe's influences on the hobby and he will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. As per the family's wishes, funeral details will not be disclosed but we hope that everyone will take a pause to think of Joe, Grace and his surviving family at this sorrowful time.
