Two Orbiculate batfish which were illegally released into the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary have been recaptured by divers.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, 20 divers used a series of barrier nets to corral the fish against at underwater ledge on Molasses Reef. Once penned-in, the fish were then remove using hand nets.

Casey Coy of the Florida Aquarium told the Tallahassee Democrat: "It took us three attempts to get them. Once we saw that the two fish weren't hanging out in the same area, we made a plan to get one fish first and then go after the second."

The fish are going to become resident at an aquarium in Tampa.
