Issue Summary

Well, the hobby just got a kick in the stomach, courtesy of Facebook deciding to enact its policy of restricting livestock sales on its platform. We discuss this in both the news (p.22) and Tailpiece (p.114). Bang goes my pension fund of breeding rare catfish and flogging them in fish groups.

What's in this Issue?

Well, the hobby just got a kick in the stomach, courtesy of Facebook deciding to enact its policy of restricting livestock sales on its platform. We discuss this in both the news (p.22) and Tailpiece (p.114). Bang goes my pension fund of breeding rare catfish and flogging them in fish groups.

But it isn’t all doom and gloom. This month I’ve been blown away by the sheer variety of fish on sale in stores, even in shops that would be considered ‘basic’ by today’s standards. It makes me smile knowing that newcomers won’t know the struggle of travelling half the country just to find a stockist with Malawi cichlids.

I’ll never tire of saying it, but despite the perceived glitches, we live in the golden age of fishkeeping. And it’s why I’ll never tire of editing a fishkeeping magazine. There’ll always be something new each month!
