Holy impossibility! Is this really Batman? It certainly looks like him...but what is it?

Neptue Canada, which posted the video onto YouTube, has been consulting experts across the world in an attempt  to identify the creature.

The video was shot last year, on a volcanic ridge off Vancouver Island at a depth of 2324m, during a routine cable route survey.

It seems likely that the weird animal may be a kind of comb jelly or ctenophore — a jellyfish-like creature that swims using rows of cilia running along the lengths of their outer bodies.
