An Australian freediver has described as "a rush", the feeling of a 150kg stingray nibbling his head while filming a documentary.

The team of commercial divers from the Terra Australis team were filming off Rottnest Island off Western Australia when one of the rays swam over Johnny Debnam's head, having a bit of a "nibble" on the way.

"That's what makes you feel alive — natural, awesome, pure things like that – you can't buy that." he said.

You can watch the Terra Australis footage below.
