Tropical Marine Centre has launched a new range of protein skimmers designed for the smaller marine aquarium.
The new V2Skim Compact range includes three models, all of which are designed to hang on the back of the aquarium and are powered by a small pump which is built into the skimmer.
TMC told Practical Fishkeeping that the skimmers have a "water intake system which ensures minimal visual impact on the aquarium whilst delivering the optimum flow and the perfect mixture of water and micro fine air bubbles."
The smallest model, the V2Skim 200 Compact, is suitable for tanks of up to 200 litres and sells for £69.99. The middle-sized V2Skim 300 Compact is claimed to do tanks of up to 300 litres and costs £99.99, while the largest model, the V2Skim 500 Compact, is claimed to be sufficient for a 500 litre aquarium and sells for £129.99.
Each model has a water level adjustment dial and a removable skimmate collection cup. An optional surface skimmer attachment is also available for the 300 and 500 models, which sells for £16.99.
