A six foot long sturgeon has been stolen from a hatchery pond in Oregon, USA.

The giant fish, which is said to have weighed 80 lbs, is believed to be around seven years-old and was spending its retirement with two other White tailed sturgeon at the Cole River Hatchery. The fish were previously used in a research programme at Oregon State University.

Hatchery manager Randy Robart told the Mail Tribune: "Somebody ripped off one of our sturgeon. They're slow-moving fish and pretty tame. It makes me more mad than anything."
