A reward is being offered for the safe return of a Basking shark tag, lost off Skye.

The tag contains valuable information about the movements of the shark. It's thought it may have washed up on the shore close to Neist Point.

Scottish Natural Heritage has called in the police in an attempt to locate the tag, which is described as baton-shaped, round and made of black rubber. It's around 15m/6" in length and may have an antenna attached to it.

Anyone who finds it is asked to contact Northern Constabulary.
