Aquarium staff at a Berlin public aquarium were shocked to find that someone had released piranha into a children's "touch pool".

Aquarium staff at a Berlin public aquarium were shocked to find that someone had released piranha into a children's "touch pool".

Germany's Bild newspaper reported that the piranha was spotted when it began attacking other fishes in the pool.

Curator Rainer Kaiser said that the pool had to be emptied to allow the piranha to be removed. He was unsure how the piranha came to get into the pool, but said that marine life and even tortoises had been dumped before by "by people wanting to get rid of them but who didn't dare flush them down the toilet."
