Pet and Aquatic wholesaler Pedigree has taken on exclusive UK distribution of Prodibio in the UK.

French company Prodibio produce aquarium and pond water care treatments with a good reputation amongst high-end marine keepers and some pretty unusual features to their product range.

Much of the range is supplied in single dose glass ampules or sprays, which the manufacturer claims gives Prodibio a long shelf life, no degradation from being opened and closed, no UV light penetration through tinted glass, and ease of use.

The freshwater range comprises BioDigest, (a concentrated solution of live bacteria,) Stop Ammo, (self explanatory,) BioTrace, (micronutrients for improved water quality) Bioclean Fresh (a combination of BioDigest and BioTrace,) BioVert (a nitrate and phosphate free plant fertiliser,) BioKit fresh (a combination of BioDigest, BioVert and BioTrace,) and Start Up, (a combination of BioDigest Start and Stop Ammo.)

The marine range comprises Bioptim (BioDigest bacteria,) Iodi+ (Iodine), Stronti+ (Strontium), Reef Booster (micronutrients for corals) BioClean Salt (BioDigest and Bioptim together,) BioKit reef (all of the above together) AlkaReef+ (maintains alkalinity) and Calci Reef+ (a hydro-gel which maintains calcium, magnesium and alkalinity in reef aquariums).

Due to the liquids being in glass ampules, the product range looks very different to anything else on the UK market and the nice, small hinged boxes that the standard size ampules arrive in provide a physically different feel to the touch and suggest a quality, technical product held within.

PFK's technical writer Nathan Hill is keen to get his hands on the products and try them out, with a proper, more thorough Practical Fishkeeping magazine review being available in the future.

Prodibio comes in two different pack formats, in blister packs containing nano products for aquariums up to 120 l., and standard size boxes containing products for aquaria between 120 and 1000 l. volume.

Price: RRPs range from £4.99-£34.99 depending on size and product.
