The refugium isn't a new concept, and neither is lighting one. But the Nano Glo available from D-D The Aquarium Solution sure makes life an awful lot easier.
The concept is a small, compact LED unit that doesn’t require rigging above the refugium. Instead the unit is held in place with the provided magnets, in the same way as an algae magnet glass cleaner. One magnet goes into the tank, the lights sit outside, and illumination is delivered.
With four 1W lights, the unit is surprisingly bright, and the lenses on the lights are top quality.
