Cranswick PLC, the company which owns marine fish importer and wholesaler Tropical Marine Centre (TMC), has reported sales up by 14% to 270 million in the last financial year, says a report in the Financial Times.

Cranswick, which specialises in the food, agribusiness and pet sectors, sold 40,000 clownfish last year compared to 25,000 the year before. Many of these fish are produced in TMC's own fish hatchery.

Cranswick told the FT that their sales in the pet sector, including the aquatics market, are up by 41% to 30 million.

TMC, whose headquarters are based in Chorleywood near the M25, has recently opened its third outlet in Bristol.
