A 23-year old man has been found hanged after three of his Flowerhorn cichlids died, according to a report in the Borneo Bulletin.
The man's grandmother, said that he had been feeling depressed since the three fish died a few days ago.
"Ching loved the fish very much and spent a lot of time caring for them over the past one year.
"Ever since the fish died, he kept to himself and seldom ate or talked much," she told the Borneo Bulletin.
Although Flowerhorn cichlids are considered largely worthless hybrids to UK cichlidophiles, they have been marketed as "lucky fish" in the Far East.
