Tropical Marine Centre attended the recent Interzoo trade show in Germany, where it generated massive interest with its LEGO reefscape.

The 'scape on the TMC stand was made by Bright Bricks, one of only 12 LEGO Certified Professionals in the world and the only one in the UK, and used approximately 35,000 LEGO bricks in its construction.

TMC's MD, Paul West says: "We wanted to entertain and surprise visitors but also to 'share the cost' with Mother Nature by reducing the number of live animals on display, underlining our commitment to sustainability and animal welfare. Our LEGO Certified Professional Reef Scape showcased both nature's beauty and complexity and our skill and ingenuity and visitors loved it!"

Visitors to the stand were given the opportunity to try their hand at making their own fish or coral from LEGO bricks, under the guidance of Duncan Titmarsh from Bright Bricks. This was so successful that TMC has decided to launch some limited edition "Marine Life" LEGO Certified Professional kits in time for Christmas, including a stingray, Regal angelfish and Lionfish.
