Market-leading aquarium manufacturer Juwel has launched a new 40 litre nano tank called the Vio at the Interzoo trade show in Nuremburg, Germany.
Juwel told Practical Fishkeeping magazine that unlike most of the other models in Juwel's range, which are produced on its state-of-the-art robotic production line in Germany, the Juwel Vio 40 aquarium features a curved front-glass and is being produced in China.
The aquarium sits on a small raised plinth designed to elevate the tank a few centimetres above a cupboard top and is the first Juwel aquarium to incorporate LED lighting.
The moulded-plastic hood is hinged for easy access and contains the familiar port for the Juwel automatic feeder as well as an enclosed light unit housing 38 individual LED lamps.
The Juwel Vio 40 aquarium includes the Bioflow Mini internal power filter, which is already sold with the coldwater and tropical Juwel Korall aquariums.
The Bioflow Mini filter has an output of 280 lph and can be run attached to both the sides or base of the aquarium.
The Interzoo launch unit we saw was a pre-production prototype, but Juwel says the finished Vio 40 will have a shiny piano black finish.
Juwel did not yet know the final retail prices for the items, which it expects to go on sale in the UK in September 2010.
