Pet and aquatics company Interpet have relaunched their light starter units, which are now compliant with 2009 regulations.

"Following significant redevelopment the new unit complies with the new European Safety legislation IEC 60598-2-11." State Interpet.

"The range of starter units power the most common T8 aquarium and vivarium fluorescent lamps with 4 models from 14/15watt up to 35/40watt."

"The new legislation exists to protect consumers, and retailers should check to ensure the products they are selling comply with this new safety legislation."

"Ensure they have all of the following, waterproof end caps, 0.5m mains lead, starter socket holder which prevents use of metal starters, and a double pole on/off switch."

The new Interpet units are available now from Interpet stockists.
