Fish food manufacturer Hikari has launched a new food aimed at ornamental freshwater shrimps.

Hikari Shrimp Cuisine is a "scientifically developed" diet for all types of freshwater shrimp, particularly the popular Caridina and Neocaridina varieties.

The food is rich in vegetable matter, including seaweed and Spirulina and is claimed to be readily accepted by even picky eaters.

Hikari claims that the food offers the necessary mineral profile for proper ecdysis (shedding) and contains copper, which is necessary for blood regeneration.

It comes in an extra small disc-like pellet size, which is said to be suitable for shrimps of all ages.

A 10g resealable packet of Hikari Shrimp Cuisine retails for 2.99.
