A goldfish managed to survive for at least 13 hours out of water after leaping from its bowl.

According to owner Barbara Woodward of Gloucester, she awoke to discover that the fish, named Ginger, had jumped out of its bowl at 7 am in the morning.

After a fruitless search, Mrs. Woodward left for work. On returning home at about 8 pm, she moved the cupboard on which the goldfish bowl was placed and found the fish still alive on the floor.

I picked him up with a spatula and his mouth started moving. I put him back into the water and off he went. He was swimming fabulously. I couldn't believe it - it was a real Christmas miracle, said Mrs. Woodward, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Ginger had been a birthday gift to Mrs. Woodward in August, and had frequently been jumping out of the water recently. According to Mrs. Woodward, We thought nothing of it...Apparently goldfish jump when they need more oxygen, so on this occasion he obviously jumped right out.
