Hagen has added a miniscule pico aquarium to its new product line of shrimp and nano aquariums at the Interzoo 2010 trade show in Nuremburg, Germany.
The Fluval SPEC is a very small pico tank holding less than 7.5 litres (2 US gallons) of water and sits on a plastic base trim.
The entire rear chamber of the tank contains the supplied water pump and a huge piece of open-cell filter foam, allowing it to pack in a huge quantity of biological media for such a small aquarium.
The top of the aquarium features a moulded plastic lid with a cut-out to allow the hang-on LED lamp unit - housing over 30 individual diodes - to shine through.
The units are supplied with Hagen's Nutrafin Cycle and Nutrafin AquaPlus water additives. Prices and availability of the product is as yet unconfirmed.
Hagen has also launched the Fluval EBI shrimp aquarium at this year's Interzoo. Hagen UK has confirmed that this model may not be available in the UK market.
