Catfish fans take note: the Catfish Study Group is holding its three-day convention from March 20–22, 2015 at the Kilhey Court Hotel in Wigan.

The convention — now in its 36th year — brings together experts from around the world to discuss everything catfish and buy and sell from top catfish breeders and keepers.

This year the CSG has secured speakers from Brazil, Canada and Germany, as well as world famous home-grown experts. The list includes Ingo Seidel, Steven Grant, Leandro de Sousa Nathan Lujan, Alex Carslaw, Ian Fuller and Brian Walsh, while other top catfish keepers including Hans Georg Evers, Michael Hardman and Martin Taylor will be in attendance.

CSG Chairman Mark Walters says: "The Convention is a great place to meet these experts in a friendly environment and exceptional conference centre facilities. Most convention goers also take the opportunity to pop into some of the local aquatic retail outlets including the world-renowned Pier Aquatics in Wigan. Our main convention sponsor makes an extra effort to stock an even wider range of catfish species at this time of the year.

"In addition to the formal talks, there will be displays of catfish bred by club members and sales tanks. Many of the species are simply not available from your average retail outlet. The club is also supported at the event by a wide range of trade and other aquarist society stands.

"Running from Friday March 20 until Sunday March 22, attendees have the use of excellent hotel facilities, three course dinners and eat all-you-like breakfasts, as well as plenty of late night bar sessions providing more opportunities to mingle and talk catfish!"
