Bolton Museum Aquarium is currently looking for an enthusiastic aquarist to join their extremely talented staff team.
The aquarium at Bolton Museum is local government funded and is famous for its work on fish conservation projects.
The permanent position will involve working alongside the Aquarium Development Officer and daily tasks will include maintaining the numerous aquaria in the museum aquarium, as well as ensuring that high welfare standards are met.
The aquaria include a fascinating range of fish, including a number of rare tropical freshwater species, so the position provides a very rare opportunity for a talented fishkeeper or breeder to put their skills to good use.
You'll need to have experience in maintaining aquaria, and you'll need to be willing to handles snakes, too. The museum isn't specifically asking for applicants with experience in public aquaria, so if you have always fancied working with fish for a living this could be a dream job.
The full time position carries a salary of 13,953 to 16,968.
