Australian biotechnology company Biowish has launched a new aquarium waste digester aimed at degrading, digesting and removing waste from water.
Each Bio-bomb is a refillable plastic ball into which a pellet containing a 100% organic, non-toxic, non-chemical, non-pathogenic mixture of enzymes designed to break down wastes is inserted.
Biowish told Practical Fishkeeping: If your tank is dirty, the water may initially appear dirtier, this is normal and shows the biology of the water has been boosted. Over 1-2 weeks the water will clear and all sediment will begin to disappear. Over 1-2 months waste matter on the tank floor and between rocks will clear.
Each Bio-bomb provides a 30-day treatment, with one Bio-bomb required for every 100 litres of aquarium water.
The company claims that fish will become more active and that their health and immunity will be boosted, pH levels will be balanced due to the lack of accumulated waste and the water will smell fresher.
Biowish claims that the product is manufactured from a mixture of 11 pure strain active ingredients which are cultured and fermented: Biowish is a revolutionary microbial technology consisting of three beneficial bacteria and two yeasts acting in symbiosis creating a wide complement of enzymes including the proprietary ~Super Catalase .
