Hot off the heels of the Eco Aqua LED releases, lighting manufacturer Arcadia has launched some low voltage, waterproof LED strips called Aqua-brite.
These units are small at 120mm long, and contain six LEDs. Initial launch models will be available in red, white or blue and can be placed above or below the water.
Not aimed at being the sole illumination for the aquarium, the compact units could be used for feature lighting, colour enhancing or we reckon the white unit could be used as a mini refugium light in nano reefs, the blue for a moonlight and the red for acclimatising fish.
Each unit is fitted with a low power USB cable, (wattage not yet confirmed,) and is supplied with a three pin plug adapter. A multi port hub, already available in the Classica range, enables the connecting of four units to one power supply.
Price: £15.99 each, or £18.99 for a colour changing model, which is said to follow shortly.
