A new addition to the Aqua Medic website this week is the Kauderni, a complete plug and play reef tank named after the Banggai cardinal.
"The new Kauderni is a sophisticated saltwater aquarium that combines stylish design and perfect functionality," says Aqua Medic.
"Furthermore, it is easy to operate. Total power consumption is only 70 watts."
The saltwater aquarium system is supplied with a cabinet in a white high gloss finish, integrated internal filtration and complete lighting system built into a aluminium cover.
The front glass of the aquarium is constructed with optiwhite clear glass and the aquarium includes adjustable active ventilation.
PFK has seen fewer and fewer Aqua Medic tanks on sale in the shops in the last few years, when the Percula and Chromis used to be commonplace.
The Yasha caused a nano revival for the brand, followed by the larger Blenny, only we are yet to meet anyone or see a single Gramma model in the flesh in the UK, despite it being on sale for several years now and receiving an equipment upgrade.
Hopefully the brand new Kauderni will change that.
Specifications
Dimensions are 61 x 61 x 144cm including cabinet, meaning a water volume of 270 l./60 gal. gross capacity.
Like the Red Sea Max and previous Aqua Medic Percula models the filtration is built into the back of the tank, hiding it from view and negating the need for a sump.
Lighting is 4 x 24 watt linear T5, with circulation provided by the PF1000 and Nano Prop 5000 pumps.
The Kauderni is a skimmer based filtration system, including the Turboflotor Blue 500.
PFK eagerly awaits getting their hands on one at the up and coming Interzoo trade show in Germany in May this year.
