A carp angling association is donating funds to scientists to enable them to undertake further work on Koi Herpes Virus (KHV), says a report from FishUpdate.

com.

The English Carp Heritage Organisation (ECHO) is donating 8000 to the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture (CEFAS) at the National Carp Show this weekend, which the organisation would like to see used to further work on the virus which can affect ornamental and common carp.

FishUpdate.com says CEFAS is apparently investing 90,000 into work on KHV and that this is the first time an angling body has invested money to a government body to help prevent the spread of a fis disease.
