Fish tank pump starts house fire

A fish tank pump is believed to have started a fire in Castor at 7am today (4 June), according to Peterborough Today.

It is believed that the flames spread to the curtains from the pump.
Cambridgeshire Fire Service have said: "One crew from Dogsthorpe and one crew from Stanground were called to a house fire in Peterborough Road, Castor at 7am today.
"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the fire.
"All occupants were out of the property on the arrival of the fire service.
"Two casualties were taken to hospital by the ambulance service, believed to be suffering with smoke inhalation.
"The cause of the fire was accidental, believed to have been started by an electrical aerator within a fish tank which caught fire and spread to nearby curtains."
