The second annual European Shrimp Contest is set to take place on September 7-8 in Piacenza, Italy at the Piacenza Expo.
The shrimp contest will form part of the Italian Pets Festival which spans over 13,000 sq m and has become Italy's largest trade fair for the aquatic industry. Last year the shrimp contest alone attracted over 11,000 visitors with participants from a wide range of European countries including Germany, Italy, Belgium and Holland.
This year's show is set to be even bigger with many more breeders participating and also featuring UK breeders for the first time.
With a large number of Asian bloodlines being shown last year, this year promises to be even more spectacular in terms of quality of the shrimp on show. With many Japanese lines such as Benibachi, Ebiten and Crimson now being kept in Europe, the quality on display is unlikely to be found anywhere else!
Thirteen different categories make up the contest, ranging from high grade PRL shrimp to popular starter shrimp such as Cherry and Yellow fire. Whatever your shrimp of choice, the European Shrimp Contest guarantees to show the best of the best.
Trade fair entry is just 9€ which grants access to the shrimp contest and all exhibition areas.
