A team of researchers in China have learned how to make fish and other living creatures invisible to the human eye.

The scientists from Zhejiang University have designed an 'invisibility cloak' made from a 5cm/2" tall hexagonal cylinder with a passage on the inside. Using glass with a high refractive index and special positioning, light can be directed around the object in the tube, making it appear 'invisible'.

At the moment the device is only suitable for use with creatures less than 10cm/4", so it's not at the Harry Potter stage yet.
