British aquarium manufacturer Reef One is to launch a low voltage heater for its biOrb range of lifestyle aquariums.

The new Intelligent Heater, which launches next in May 2010, is suitable for aquariums of up to 60 litres and automatically shuts off when removed from the aquarium.

Reef One said: "Safety is key when water and electricity are in close quarters and our engineering team have developed the Intelligent Heater to address potentially serious safety problems with traditional heaters.

"Not only is this heater safer and far more accurate than others on the market, it’s also stylish, discreet and the PowerPod allows everything including the heater, light and pump to be neatly plugged into the same supply."
