Happy Fish World is a family-run business based in Kidderminster, and is the vision of James Ray, who has worked in the aquatic trade for over 20 years.
Around four years ago, James was seriously ill and upon recovery decided to go it alone. He set up Happy Fish Care — working from home he offered pond and aquarium maintenance as well as bespoke made to measure aquariums. James started the business from nothing and had no financial backing; within three years the business had grown so much he opened Happy Fish World at the end of last year.
The shop has 74 tropical tanks, 59 marine tanks, six coral tanks, a 6ft plant stand and 18 coldwater tanks, along with all the associated dry goods.
The shop still offers pond and aquarium maintenance and even has a 24-hour emergency number.
