A new diet is available from Hikari for herbivorous cichlids and tropical fish that need a diet rich in vegetable matter.

According to the blurb Hikari Sinking Cichlid Excel is a complete and balanced, colour enhancing daily diet that combines wheat-germ, spirulina and essential vitamins and minerals, providing exceptional nutrition.

"Sinking Cichlid Excel contains the inner most part of the wheat-germ kernel for easy digestion. The inclusion of pure-cultured spirulina promotes excellent colouring while stabilised vitamin C promotes a strong immune system."

Hikari makes really good foods and are already popular with cichlid keepers with both their Gold and Excel ranges. We welcome a sinking pellet as ravenous cichlids usually race up to the surface and nail any food quickly — the less air they take in and swallow the better. And being vegetable based this is the one to consider for all those Malawi mbuna, and Tanganyikan Tropheus.

Price: Sinking Cichlid Excel comes in a mini pellet format and is available in 100g and 342g retail packs with RRPs of £5.99 and £13.99 respectively.
