A fishmonger in China found a live bomb inside the belly of a squid.
The 90cm/3' long squid had been netted off Guangdong province and taken to a fish market.
The fishmonger, known only as Mr Huang in the report by Guangzhou Daily newspaper, was gutting the squid for a customer when his knife hit something metallic. When he looked inside the body of the squid he found a 20cm/8" bomb.
The bomb was described as rusty but still active and weighing about three pounds. Mr Huang contacted the police who took it away and carried out a controlled explosion.
Police said that the bomb may have been dropped by a fighter jet, but didn't give any idea how old it might have been, although experts later revealed that it could have exploded at any moment. It's thought it may have washed into the shallow feeding grounds of the squid.
"This sort of squid lives close to the shore and normally makes a meal of small fish and prawns," said Mr Huang. "Perhaps he thought the bomb was his favourite food and gulped it down. He certainly had a big belly when he was caught."
