The British Killifish Association (BKA) has formally announced convention dates for 2019 — Friday 4th October to Sunday 6th October.

The venue for this year will be the Mercure Hotel, Leeds Road, Wetherby, LS22 5HE.

A wide array of killifish will be on show from some of the top breeders in both from the UK and abroad, and the show fish will be auctioned off on the Sunday at 1pm.

While this is an Association event, all are welcome to attend. Non-members are welcome to join on the day (online membership is only £10 per annum). Attendees will be able to bid on the highly prized and rare specimens that will be available in the auctions.

This year’s guest speaker is Alberto Reis of the Portuguese Killifish Association who will be talking on South American killis. Prospective members are encouraged to get to the Hotel before 10.30am on the Sunday to hear his fascinating talk on ‘Collecting Killis in Uruguay’.

The BKA has negotiated discount accommodation packages for those wishing to make a weekend of it, plus there’s a Saturday evening dinner and prize-giving, with raffles throughout the weekend.
