Fancy goldfish fans will be even more spoilt for choice, as Surrey-based specialist Star Fisheries is expanding.
The new system will offer approximately 35 extra viewing tanks for specimen fish, taking the display area alone up to around 250 aquariums of various sizes — including a recent 12ft long addition.
There are also 40 individual ponds where fancy goldfish can be viewed and selected.
Andy Green of Star Fisheries says: “It will be a significant new display, but most importantly the quality of the fancy goldfish arriving is expected to be better than ever, with the rare breeds being a real speciality for us as well as the more usual quality fancy varieties.
"The fish in the pictures on this page will be for sale later in the year. We hope to launch the Open Days in a larger way than ever before, with scheduled shipments already booked from China, Japan, Thailand and of course our UK bred fish."
