If you're looking to inject more fish into your life, there's a couple of events you need to know of this weekend.

The first involves the superb Catfish Study Group convention, over at Standish, Wigan. With a huge range of speakers including Dr Mark Sabaj Perez, Ingo Seidel and Julian Dignall, it’s a catfish fan’s perfect weekend. There’ll be fish on show, and stalls selling goodies on the day.

It’s over the whole weekend, too, starting today. So if you’ve only got the one day free, there’s still no excuse. Go. Enjoy.

For more details, have a look at the Catfish Study group website.

If you’re more southern based, or more of a cichlid fan, have a think about the British Cichlid Association, who are holding an inaugural convention this Sunday 17th, from ten until five.

With Dr Wolfgang Staeck presenting a talk on the fishes of Tanganyika, and with cichlid auctions throughout the day, it’s one event that an enthusiast should thoroughly enjoy.

For more details, have a look at the BCA website.
