A huge marine aquarium put out a blaze in the U.S. - when it cracked following an explosion caused by the fire.

The blaze started in a shed which was attached to the house in Sandy, Oregon. The heat of the fire caused a CO2 canister in the shed to explode, lifting the roof and knocking the exterior wall of the house in by several inches.

The 700 US gal/583 gal aquarium broke, pouring water onto the fire and dousing most of the flames.

A 12-year-old boy is reported to have been at home alone at the time of the fire, but he escaped with the family dogs. Unfortunately the fish in the tank weren't so lucky.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
