Tropical Marine Centre has launched its new AquaRay MultiControl solid state lighting control unit at this year's Interzoo trade show in Germany.

The TMC AquaRay MultiControl 8 LED lighting controller unit has eight sockets with dimming control and timers and runs all lamps plugged into it from a single mains socket.

The AquaRay MultiControl 8 features a "simple" interface which lets you create sunrise, daylight and moonlight lighting phases for your aquarium.

TMC said: "The AquaRay MultiControl is suitable for eight AquaBeam or GroBeam 500s, four AquaBeam or GroBeam 1000s, or four AquaBeam 1500 XGs, or any combination."

The lighting controller has two independently timed channels, with six outputs timed separately from the other two.

There's also a built-in "storm function" which TMC reckons could encourage breeding in certain species. It also includes a built-in battery to store settings in the result of a power failure.

TMC has also launched a new LED Flexi-Strip, a new AquaRay MMS 3m DC extension cable and a new AquaBeam 1500 XG Ultima LED lighting tile.
