Tropical Paradise Aquatics

The new Tropical Paradise extension was finished in December 2004 after months of hard work, and all the difficulties of working and running an aquatic shop that resembled a building site. The team at Tropical Paradise tell us:

"The extension forms the new fish house, and the added space has allowed us to have the extra tanks needed to keep the selection of coldwater and tropical fish we want to stock - as well as being able to build one of the largest marine fish and marine coral/invertebrate systems in the area. We also have quarantine tanks for both marine and tropical fish.

"With a 3500 litre marine fish system, it's possible to stock a large selection of popular marine fish, as well some more unusual fish. On the tropical fish section with a 5250 litre system we have copied our marine fish system. Our policy is to have the largest selection of popular tropical fish possible as well as stocking some more unusual species.

"We have continued to invest in the shop and since December 2004 there have been several expansions to the tank arrangements to include a specialist 450 litre SPS tank running on a miracle mud sump system, a dedicated LPS, soft coral and nine invertebrate-only tanks all totalling 3000 litres.

"With all the fish now in the fish house, we had freed up valuable space in the main shop for us to double the amount of stock carried by the shop almost overnight. This was helped by sponsorship from some big companies such as Eheim, Seachem, Juwel and New Era in areas such as shelving and uniforms.

"We now stock just about every item that any tropical or marine hobbyist would want, as well as a vast selection of pond dry goods. The very latest investment is the new computer till system that has just been installed, which allows us to monitor sales and stock levels, as well as being able to automatically order new stock. This is going to be critical when we go online with the new website (which is under construction at the moment) and go live with Mail Order sales.

"The shop has grown from strength to strength since it opened in June 2002 and now is a very popular and successful family run business with customers often travelling from neighbouring counties and is regarded by some big name suppliers to be in the top ten Aquatic outlets in the UK".
