| Sharon and Chris Griffin had been customers at Leamington Spa based Rosedale Aquatics for over 15 years, and clearly liked it alot; as they bought the shop in March last year. Says Sharon: "We are a family run business with some very experienced staff members who have been in the trade for a combined total of over 65 years. "In the shop we have our resident pacu, Paxo who is 23-years old. He is very well known in the area with customers who came to see him as children, and are now bringing in their own children to see him. The local children love to see him eating his bananas. We also have a resident one eyed piranha called Nelson. "We provide good advice to customers from taking absolute beginners through the basics to setting up marine systems as well as being dealers for Juwel, Deltec, TMC, BiOrb, Tunze, Aqua Medic, Interpet, Tetra and other major brands. If something is not in stock we will get it to order for the customer. We also offer in store water testing." Sharon says that the shop stocks tropical, coldwater, marine and pond fish and aims to have a large selection ranging from the common to the unusual: "Our stocks include the ever popular Neon tetras, Cardinals, Platies and Mollies to the more unusual Rasbora urophthalma , Candybar danios, Fire ring danios, Mogurnda goby, and 20 varieties of Corydoras including Bronze, albino, paleatus, sterbai, haraldschultzi, amandajanea, metae and adolfoi. "We also have a selection of cichlids which include Rams, Kribensis, Mikrogeophagus altispinosa, Nanochromis nudiceps, Apistogramma cacatuoides "double red", Geophagus steindachneri, Firemouths, Oscars and Severums, as well as a good variety of rainbowfish, including bosemani , maccullochi, trifasciata, lacustris, Celebes and Iriatherina werneri. We also have Algae shrimp and Dwarf congo frogs." Sharon says that marine and coldwater fish, and associated gadgetry is also well represented at the shop: "Our marine section contains a pair of TMC tank-bred seahorses , Peppermint shrimps, Boxing shrimps, a selection of hard and soft corals, Yellow tang, Gold rush tang, Long horned cowfish, Chalk goby, Lemon goby, Mandarin, Spotted mandarin, Pink scooter blennies and a Coral beauty among others. We sell liverock to order and we have RO water in stock. We also stock the San Francisco Bay Brand frozen food and live bloodworm and daphnia." "Our coldwater section includes a variety of Oranda, Moors and goldfish in our coldwater section. We have a small pond section with Comets, Goldfish, Ghost Koi, marginals and oxygenating weed. We also stock all the dry goods associated with ponds such as Blagdon pumps, TMC Pondclear UV units among others. The shop is a friendly place where we endeavour to help everyone who comes through the door wether it be a livestock problem or a spare part they can't find."
