| Hampshire-based Lynchford Aquatics stocks tropical, marine, coldwater and pond fish, and runs an aquarium and pond installation and maintenance service. The staff told PFK: “We have been established for over 40 years, which makes us one of the most experienced outlets in the UK. We are highly focused on customer service. Our staff include experienced enthusiasts through to industry professionals, and as a result of this mix, whatever your requirement is, we are able to assist. Further to this we are entirely independent and as such the customer will always receive impartial advice. “Our shop stocks everything needed to run a healthy aquarium, with an ever-expanding choice of livestock. Recently we refurbished our saltwater systems and now have more stock tanks then ever. We offer a range of services including tank and pond installation and maintenance. “We stock a wide range of tanks and bowls that cater for all needs, starter kits to drilled reef systems, a custom aquarium build service is also available. We have recently built a new tank show room that extends our range considerably. We stock fluorescent T8 and T5 units and tubes, metal halides and LED lamps, internal and external filters, both power and air-driven, trickle filters, protein skimmers and UV sterilisers and clairifiers. We stock huge quantities of aquatics goods including RO water, books, frozen food, tank décor, maintenance equipment, wood, rock, RO units, treatments, trace elements, salt and refractometers. In short we stock most goods required and if we don’t have what you ask for we can normally get it fast. “Livestock wise, we have tropical, coldwater, marine fish and inverts, aquarium plants, live foods (including bloodworm, Daphnia, brineshrimp and river shrimp). Deliveries are twice weekly and we use a range of suppliers to obtain healthy stock at the best prices. Our marine livestock is all hand-picked using the most trusted sources and new stock is sourced bi-weekly. “In addition to the above we also stock freshwater ornamental shrimp and breed some varieties on site. Pond plants and fish are available through the season. Lilies, marginals, oxygenators, goldfish, rudd, Koi carp and tench are all readily available. Our pond section is open from late March through to late September.” |
