| Discus South, as the name suggests, is a specialist store stocking only Discus. Run by Paul and Ange Lucas, the shop is open by appointment only and has 40 tanks of Discus imported from Jeff Yang at FishtradeZone Malaysia. Paul told Practical Fishkeeping: "Jeff will supply us with anything we, or more importantly our customers, require, from two inch show quality Discus to full blown juvenile show winners - at a premium of course. "For those who cannot make a visit, we will ship our Discus throughout the UK mainland at a cost of £15. The fish are sent out from Monday to Thursday night for delivery next morning, with live arrival guaranteed. "Imports from Jeff are already quarantined for a minimum of two weeks and then we will quarantine for a further three weeks, on an observation basis, and only treat when absolutely necessary. They are, of course, wormed when they arrive." There's also an online store where you can buy a range of Discus-related products, including the new Tony Tan range of granular foods for Discus. "We are a specialist Discus book retailer carrying 10 titles printed since 2000 which are on our online shop or our eBay shop. This shop carries many unusual, hard to find discus related products such as beefheart, worm, brineshrimp flakefoods; decapsulated brineshrimp; filter media such as bio-rings, peatmoss and super carbon. We have a huge range of air operated sponge filters also RO Man products and so much more – take a look. "We offer a unique one to one service; You will only ever deal with Paul or Ange, sometimes both, and we have kept Discus for 15 years in a hard water area." |
