| Cherry Hill Aquatics forms a major part of the Cherry Hill Garden Centre in Hemlington, near Middlesborough. Cherry Hill Aquatics told Practical Fishkeeping: "The business was established in 1963 by Mr Norman Wall and was run as a traditional Nursery with the majority of the plants grown on site. Over the years more land was bought and the business itself was expanded. It has now been rebranded into a modern garden centre with a newly completed inside sales area, including the aquatics department and a large tranquil cafe. The business however is still run by the same family with Mr Wall's daughters Janet Summers and Judie Livingstone and his Son-in-law Paul Stamp now at the helm." The staff tell us that the aquatic centre originally sold only coldwater fish, but added a tropical section in early 2004. Cherry Hill Aquatics said: "The aquatic centre went from strength to strength and a small department soon grew into a large and vibrant addition to the garden centre. At present, the aquatic centre consists of three section: a tropical fish house, the main shop and an outside section, which holds pond fish, water features, liners and plants in stock. As well as a vast array of tropical fish, we also many top brand products by Tetra, Interpet, Blagdon, Nishikoi, Kockney Koi and many more." "Due to our continued success, we are in the process of opening a small marine section. This will be monitored with a view to expand in the near future if this proves to be as popular as the tropical department.
