Live Bookmarks
Live bookmarks allow you to check what articles or news stories we've published recently without actually visiting the site. Just check your bookmarks while you're browsing, and you'll see an automatically updated list of entries. Simply click on the link and you'll be taken straight to the right page on the PFK site.Step 1: Get the right browser
| Live bookmarks currently work in the latest versions of Safari on Mac OS X; Konqueror on Linux; and Mozilla Firefox on Windows and virtually all other platforms. All of these browsers are available as free downloads. We use and recommend the excellent Mozilla Firefox browser. The instructions below here are for Firefox, but Konqueror and Safari are much the same. |
Step 2: Look for the Live Bookmarks icon
| On the bottom right hand corner of Firefox, and other browsers, you should see a little icon to indicate that the site has Live Bookmarks or RSS feeds enabled. Click the icon and you'll see a list of options appear. |
Step 3: Select the live bookmarks to add
| Select either "PFK | Latest news" or "PFK | Latest articles" and then click the name to add the newsfeed to your live bookmarks list. You can select the other one in a moment if you wish to use both. | ![]() |
Step 4: Name your live bookmarks
| File the bookmark in your bookmarks folder, ideally along with your other live bookmarks, then click OK to save the changes to Firefox. Give the bookmarks a snappy title so you can find them quickly and easily. | ![]() |
Step 5: View your live bookmarks
| Open your bookmarks and browse to the live bookmarks for the Practical Fishkeeping website. Each time we update the site, these bookmarks will get updated, so you'll always see the last 15 things published. | ![]() |
