"I've used this and the texture and colour is very interesting, but you'd need to choose your decor carefully to avoid any colour clashes. It goes well with petrified wood.
It's interesting that it doesn't contain nutrients, but relies on extracting nutrients from the water. Dosing liquid ferts regularly would be necessary in a high-energy tank.
I wonder why JBL still don't produce an NPK product for the 'specialists'. Most competitors do these days.."

"My thoughts for the maximum stocking guide of an 'average' planted freshwater tank with regular maintenance and good plant growth, CO2 turned off at night -
1-2cm of small fish per litre.
Towards 1cm/litre for lower-growth set-ups, 2cm/litre for higher-growth setups."

"I'd have preferred to have seen a T5 version of their Freshwater Lamp (7500K).
The Original Tropical is far too pink for my liking."

"Thanks, Nick.
If you wanted to go lower maintenance you could lower the MH photoperiod to 4 hrs. and T5s to 6.
Needle fern is a lovely addition and would suit the 'scape well.
Are you a member of any forums?
