About Us
Practical Fishkeeping is the UK's best-selling fishkeeping magazine. We cover all areas of the fishkeeping hobby including tropical fish, marine fish, coldwater fish, pond fish, reefkeeping and watergardening.Practical Fishkeeping is published every four weeks, so there are 13 issues every year, rather than the usual 12 you get with some other magazines. Every issue includes over 116 pages with a good balance of material on each area of fishkeeping.
Where can I get a copy in the UK?
Practical Fishkeeping is available at all good newsagents and aquatic shops. You can buy a copy at most branches of WH Smith, or you can ask your local newsagent to order it for you. A subscription to PFK will mean you get your magazine before it goes on sale in the shops, and you'll often be able to get a FREE gift or take part in competitions exclusive to subscribers. Is PFK available in the USA?
Yes. The magazine is very popular in the States. You can buy a copy at large newsagents, such as Barnes and Noble or Borders or you can order a copy from your local newsagent. The easiest way to get the magazine in the USA, and elsewhere in the world, is via subscription. What else comes with the magazine?
Besides the main magazine itself, we also produce a number of supplementary magazines each year, which come free with selected issues. Foremost among these is Practical Marine Fishkeeping. This specialist marine magazine is currently published once each year and covers a wide range of topics in marine fishkeeping. How often do you produce the Fishkeeping Directory?
The Fishkeeping Directory, the print version of our popular Fish Shop Finder is produced every November. This detailed guide contains details on virtually every aquatic store in the UK and Ireland, as well as a comprehensive list of fish vets, aquatic manufacturers and fishkeeping clubs. It's indispensable, and it's FREE with the November issue!Who writes the magazine?
We have a small team of highly qualified editorial staff as well as a large number of contributing authors, who do not work within the PFK editorial office. Many of these contributors are part of our team of expert panelists and are on hand to answer fishkeeping queries from readers via the form in every issue.About this website
