Don't be - he's got serious buoyancy trouble at the moment and am finding it difficult to try and help him. He is the cutest thing ever though so we have got a long long way to go yet before I decide I can do no more for him. I even made my own gel food for him at the weekend but he is now going on a diet for a few days to see if that will help him.

Anyway, Homer & Marge - just stunning! Their fins are gorgeous. I love red cap orandas, mine has got such a funny little personality, she looks grumpy all the time but is just so happy - except for when she gets chased by my fantail, then she looks peeved off! Hehe. She doesn't have the headgrowth like yours does, she just has lovely pearly-white scales (hence her name Pearl) and a fluorescent orange blob on her head! Sooo cute.

The little guy will be fine rach,Maybe its him growing into his body, surely their bodies must change like ours as we grow?Im going to have a go at making the food via you thread,it looked fun,i will just have to try & not get green paste on the ceiling (I did that last time with an out of control electric mixer & sponge cake mixture).Im sure he'll just need a real good poop & he'll be back to his cute self (Marge goes the same for about 10 mins everyday then lets out a hell of a fart, its like an another airstone in the tank when she does).I know gill will be alright

I never thought homer was a redcap as his wen didnt grow until he was in the new tank,i know i sound bad but i hope his wen doesnt grow big as ive read up on them that the wen can grow over their eyes, can be damaged easily (He gets pimples every so often that disappear in a matter of hours),he already worries me,i dont want him bashing his head while going mad for food!.I think all oranda's have their own little personality, homer had one right from the start,i picked him as he was chasing his reflection.I sat infront of the tank the other night with a tattoo magazine & they're both looking at the pictures,Homer seems to like the Sailor Jerry type tattoo's,he'd go all wiggly while eyeing up the pictures.Im sure in time Marge's personality will come out more,i just love the fluttering she does, its like butterfly wings & shes opening & closing her mouth as if to say 'look at me,im here,im being cute...FEED ME!!!'
Oh btw,i have a homer & marge tattoo, its 2 japanese goldfish, one with a 3 fantail like marge & the other has a 4 fantail like Homer, its so cute,Homer approves,he's eyeing them up as his new mates!I shall have to post a pic

Awesome!

I think you need to enter Jay's photo competition on the Goldfish forum, the theme for this month is 'full tank photos' and for all the effort and time you've spent making a great home for your fish, the least you can do is to show it off!

I will take my photographs once my panda is swimming correctly, don't want him upside down in the photos.

Goldfish are amazing creations and although I love any type of fish, I personally think that fancy goldfish have the best personalitles.

I was thinking of entering but both of the fishbutts have been on hold for their algae clean as nan had her surgery yesterday (9 hours, insane!) & we're going to see her today so hopefully they'll get an algae clean tonight then their weekly hoover, water change etc on thursday.I know who will win the comp though,Jay's tank is freaking amazing!Im totally jealous of it

When i was about 14,i wanted some black moor's as i had quite a large tank that a family friend gave to my dad for his pond,my mum said 'I had some goldfish as a child & they just did nothing'...that was quite the differance when she met Homer! She'll sit in my room watching the tank but wont admit it :P
