have low-key books from local library - "starting digital" - "buying a camera" etc
but need to go a bit further especially on "landscapes"
but not "Photoshop" - [over my head] - nor "macro" [ lens too expensive]

Paula ...ordered the "Understanding Exposure" you suggested from Amazon
+ got a Nikon 55-200mm AF-S VR - mint £130 c/w Hoya from AVForums "classified"

cannot afford a Nikon SB400 flash....:(
but did find my tripod - a 30year old Velbon with centre post - guess that'll be ok?

I am using a Canon EOS 400D with a lens which is very new to me - 50mm fixed focal length, F1.8.. It's all a bit baffling to me, having only had a huge zoom until this point.
I'm yet to use my external flash because it chows on batteries much faster than I can buy them.








Some days it is very difficult to keep a minnow's attention..


At the minute my minnows are dancing and flaring their fins, I'd love to try and capture what they're doing, but I'm not having much luck. :(

Hmmm.... have got advice that i need more lgiht - I didnt use the flash for fear of startling the life out of the fish :P

anyways, am quite keen to get some good shots, any advice WITHOUT SPENDING MUCH MONEY. Both have there floor mainly being dark and the first being quite noisy. Advice ont eh settings please?
